     横流方形冷却塔是一种热交换设备，被广泛应用于工业生产中的冷却过程。它的主要作用是将高温流体的热量转移到环境中，以保证设备的正常运行。一般来说，横流方形冷却塔采用的是水的蒸发冷却方式，通过湿度和风速的调节，将水通过填料进行制冷的直接空气散热式冷却设备。

　　横流方形冷却塔的结构相对比较简单，它由一系列组成部分构成，如设备本体、水池、风机、填料以及管道等。在运行过程中，热流体通过管道进入设备本体，在填料的垂直受力作用下呈现出向四周均匀散开的状态，此时空气从底部进入，经过填料与水之间的接触面，通过蒸发和热量传递将水中的热量带走，最终将热流体的温度降低。降温后的冷却流体顺着管道从设备底部排出，整个冷却过程就这样循环进行着。
　　在工业生产过程中，冷却塔的效率非常重要。因此，横流方形冷却塔设计时一般会考虑以下因素：填料形式、填料材质、风机数量、管道与泵的配置等等。其中，填料的选择十分重要，不同形状、材质的填料对冷却效率和水的利用率都有相应的影响。在目前的应用中，尺寸较小的冷却塔多使用PVC填料，而尺寸较大的冷却塔则会采用压型波纹加厚PVC填料和设计的风机形式。此外，横流方形冷却塔还可以根据具体情况进行各种配套措施，如再生锅炉、再生氧化塔、预冷前置或最终冷却等等。
　　横流方形冷却塔的应用范围非常广泛，适用于各种需要冷却的工业流体，如塑胶制品、电子电器、造纸、化工等等。同时，由于其结构简单，操作方便、易于维护保养，可以在各种恶劣的环境中使用。
